Do you only design travel within Europe?
Europe is where Lux Grand Travels specializes, and that focus is intentional. Deep knowledge of a region produces better travel than broad knowledge of everywhere. If your destination is Europe, you are working with someone who has spent serious time understanding it, the logistics, the partners, the seasonal rhythms, and where the real experiences live.
How far in advance should luxury European travel be planned?
For most European experiences, six to twelve months is a comfortable planning window. The properties that feel private rather than popular, the guides worth having, and the tables that require a relationship are not available on short notice. Planning ahead is not a formality. It is what makes the difference between a good trip and the right one.
Do you arrange private guides and insider experiences?
Yes. Private guides, behind-the-scenes access, and experiences that are not listed anywhere are a standard part of how Lux Grand Travels builds an itinerary. These are not upgrades. They are the baseline. They exist because of relationships built over time, not because of a search.
What happens if something changes during the trip?
You will not be managing it alone. If something shifts, a delay, a closure, an unexpected need, you have direct access to someone who knows your itinerary in full and can respond in real time. That presence and advocacy is part of what you are working with a travel designer for. It is also the reason Lux Grand Travels exists.
Do you recommend trip insurance?
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all trips, without exception. International travel involves variables that are simply outside anyone's control. A medical situation abroad, a missed connection, a supplier that closes unexpectedly, or a personal emergency that requires you to return home early. The cost of not being covered is almost always greater than the cost of the policy itself. Once your deposit has been submitted, we will provide you with a quote tailored to your specific itinerary and investment. You are also welcome to research additional policies on your own, and we are happy to walk you through what to look for.
Why work with a travel designer instead of booking online?
The internet gives you access. It does not give you judgment. Knowing which hotel is in the right neighborhood, which guide is worth the fee, and which experiences are genuinely worth your time requires something a search engine cannot provide. It also requires relationships that take years to build and a level of contextual knowledge that does not exist in a results page. That is what a travel designer brings to every itinerary. And it is the difference between a trip that was fine and one you will actually remember.
Why not just use AI to plan the trip?
AI is a remarkable research tool. It is not a travel designer. It can tell you a hotel has availability. It cannot tell you that the property is mid-renovation, that the service has slipped since the last review cycle, or that a better option opened two streets away last spring. It cannot make a call on your behalf, negotiate a room upgrade, or sit across from a local partner and read the room. It does not know that a particular region is better in late September than early October, or that one guide in Porto is worth twice the fee of any other. Knowing what exists is not the same as knowing what is actually worth your time.
